The 10-week challenge included 22 athletic and non-athletic events such as soccer, volleyball, bicycle races, cornhole, dominoes and Texas Hold 'Em. Employees, spouses and retirees from local companies participated in the Olympic-style competition.
Companies recognized for scoring the most points included Texas Instruments, Geico of Texas, ISN, Maxim Integrated, L-3 Advanced Systems and Technologies and Sendero Consulting. Founded in 1988, the Corporate Challenge has raised $2.5 million for Special Olympics Texas over the course of its existence.
The event is one of the three largest corporate challenges in the country and the only one of its kind in Texas.
