Collin County Commissioners approved $400,000 in funding for Prosper’s Raymond Community Park hike and bike trail project during a Dec. 9 meeting.

The details

The project funding comes for the county’s 2023 parks and open space bond. The bond was approved by voters in November 2023 as part of a larger $683 million bond package that included funding for parks, roads and more.

The parks and open space bond encompassed $22.45 million for projects throughout the county. The funds would go to cities and other organizations on a matched basis for the development of parks and open space.

Those bond funds will be used in the Collin County Project Funding Assistance Program as county officials distribute the money to eligible applicants throughout 2024-28.
