Leadership Plano has chosen the retired executive of a Plano-based construction manufacturing subsidiary to headline its first event in a new speaker series. Cary Evert will discuss how companies can develop and retain employees at the event, which will begin at 6:30 p.m. March 15 at the Courtyard Theater, 1509 H Avenue, Plano. Evert had until recently served as president and CEO of Hilti Corp.'s North America operations. “Many business managers understand the importance of investing in people, but Hilti has truly emerged as a leader in this area,” said Jyo Pai, one of the organizers behind the series. “We’re pleased to have Cary Evert as our first speaker for what we hope will become an ongoing platform to highlight Plano’s many outstanding leaders and to allow them to share their knowledge and insights.” Admission is $25 for the general public and free for Leadership Plano graduates and class members.
