Medical City Plano intends to file a zoning request with the Plano Planning Department with the goal of adding more patient rooms and garage space to its hospital campus.

According to a letter from Medical City Plano representatives presented at the Feb. 7 Plano Planning and Zoning Commission meeting, the request is “to allow for much needed modifications to their campus at the northeast corner of Coit Road and West 15th Street.” The commission agreed to hold a future public hearing to consider the zoning request that is needed to make the necessary renovations.

According to city staff, the hearing will likely be held in the next few months. City documents show renovations would include additional building height, more patient rooms, added garage space, relocated helipads and other standards necessary for construction.

According to its website, Medical City Plano is a 603-bed hospital facility with nearly 2,000 physicians on staff. The hospital is located at 3901 W. 15th St., and additional information can be found on its website.
