Austin-based fast casual concept Verts Kebap opened its first Plano location April 9 at 1855 Dallas Parkway, Ste. 300. The Mediterranean restaurant donated 100 percent of its opening day sales to the North Texas Food Bank.
Co-founders Michael Heyne and Dominik Stein launched Verts in 2011 with an idea to recreate popular dishes they missed from their native Europe. The restaurant features folded customizable sandwiches, wraps, sides and salads and offers a unique line of homemade sauces. “We are excited to bring our inspiring Mediterranean food to the Plano community,” Heyne said in a news release. “Driven by our passion and vision for culinary excellence, we look forward to being part of the Plano community for years to come." The Plano restaurant is the 31st location in Texas. The company said it will continue to expand in Texas throughout 2016, with plans to open eight to 10 additional locations across Dallas, Austin, Houston and San Antonio.
