Plano’s Tom Muehlenbeck Recreation Center is set to close for renovations on Jan. 7.

The specifics

The renovations are expected to last for around nine months, according to a news release from the city.

Tom Muehlenbeck Center updates will include the following:
  • HVAC replacement
  • Pool and equipment refurbishments
  • Locker room updates
  • Technology enhancements
  • Improved irrigation and landscaping
  • Sidewalk replacements
  • Modernized lighting and sound systems
  • Facility updates to meet current codes
  • A refresh of the center and its grounds
The project was expected to start in February, but is starting early because “several key items/equipment arrived before schedule,” according to the release.
