Starting Monday morning, drivers will be able to travel on new construction at FM 2499 and Grapevine Mills Blvd.
As part of this
traffic pattern change, southbound FM 2499 drivers will not be able to turn left onto eastbound Grapevine Mills Blvd. until the remainder of the bridge is complete. During this time, traffic will be detoured to a new turnaround at the south end of the project. Click
here for a detour map.
Once the new traffic pattern is in place, crews will be able to demolish the north side of Grapevine Mills Blvd. and begin building the remaining portion of the bridge. When the entire bridge is complete, the road will have eight lanes and a Texas U-turn on the north side.
In order to prepare for the traffic pattern change, the following temporary closures will be in place from 8 p.m. on Friday, June 5 to 6 a.m. on Monday, June 8:
- Northbound FM 2499: Left turn and left through lane closed. One right lane will remain open.
- Southbound FM 2499: Left lane closed. Two right lanes will remain open.
- Eastbound Grapevine Mills Boulevard at FM 2499: Full closure. Traffic will be detoured to SH 26/Northwest Highway, then northbound SH 121.
