The Plano Aquatic Center reopened on Feb. 19 after being closed for months to construct a new perimeter grating system for the indoor pool, according to a news release from the city.
As a show of appreciation for patrons' patience and understanding the Plano Aquatic Center is offering free swimming on Feb. 21 and 22.
The pool is open 1–6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m.–3 p.m. Monday–Friday and from 7:15–9:30 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday (except Feb. 20).
The pool closed since Oct. 9 after a staff investigation noted several cracks in sections of grating around the pool. The investigation took place because of an accident at the center in August when a man's leg went through a collapsed grate.
