Results of a biennial survey conducted by the city of Southlake show a majority of residents rate their quality of life as excellent.

Also, not a single resident of the more than 800 residents who completed the survey rated their quality of life as poor or fair.

Overall, 55 percent of those surveyed rated quality of life as excellent; 39 percent rated it as very good and 6 percent as good.

The survey's results were released prior to the City Council meeting Feb. 18, and information culled from it is available on the city's website.

The results from the survey are "wonderful," said Mayor John Terrell, at the Feb. 18 City Council meeting.

"There's always room to get better, but these are fantastic results."

As for the most important issues facing the city, residents said traffic or street management, municipal growth and housing were most important.

About 30 percent of those surveyed said they were "very or somewhat" dissatisfied with traffic congestion and 28 percent felt the same about bicycle-friendly streets and trails.

Southlake conducts the citizen satisfaction survey every two years.
