Developer Cooper & Stebbins has launched a new website to provide information about its proposed residential projects scheduled to come before the Southlake City Council Nov. 19.
The website is www.theresidencesatsouthlaketownsquare.com.
A portion of the plan, condominiums for lease and purchase called The Residences, drew opposition from both City Council members and residents at a council meeting Sept. 3 where the plans were presented by Frank Bliss of Cooper & Stebbins. Three of the seven council members said they could not support the project as planned, and it has been tabled since.
The Residences would include 38 condominiums in a five-story building on the west side of Central Avenue, directly across from the Brownstones. They would range in size from 1,500 to 3,200 square feet.
According to the website: "Initially, marketing will be focused on purchasers so as to establish values for sales comparable purposes. Upon building completion, those interested in leasing will be contacted for any remaining inventory, until all homes are sold. We expect to sell out within two to five years of building completion."
The proposed project also includes more Garden District Residences, more Brownstones and a new park.
Cooper & Stebbins developed Southlake Town Square, the vision of the late Brian Stebbins. Bliss, who lives in Southlake, worked alongside Stebbins from the beginning to create the development, which has become the heart of the city.
Southlake Town Square was designed by architect David M. Schwarz, who also will design The Residences in a similar style. Schwarz designed Bass Hall, the Ballpark at Arlington and many other iconic buildings across the U.S.
