A new Shipley Do-Nuts location is set to open its doors in McKinney, a company news release states.

Shipley Do-Nuts offers over 60 varieties of doughnuts, including glazed, filled, iced and cake doughnuts. The shop also offers kolaches in savory varieties including sausage as well as ham and cheese, according to its website. Other menu items include bear claws, cinnamon rolls, apple fritters and coffee drinks.

The specifics

The 1,800-square-foot McKinney location offers a dine-in area as well as a drive-thru. As a grand opening promotion, each vehicle that comes through the drive-thru from 7 a.m.-2 p.m. on March 1-2 will receive a box of six pre-selected doughnuts for free. Additional promotions will be available at the store during the grand opening week March 3-7.

“We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate the opening of our new Shipley Do-Nuts location than by giving away a half-dozen donuts to every vehicle that drives through our drive-thru,” Franchisee Skeet Smith said in the release. “It will be the biggest donut giveaway this town has ever seen.”

The company, which was founded in Houston in 1936, has over 370 locations in 13 states, according to the release. There is one other Shipley Do-Nuts location in McKinney at 5000 Collin McKinney Parkway, Ste. 140.

What else?

Smith plans to open 10-15 additional Shipley Do-Nuts locations in the North Dallas area in the next four years, expanding the company’s footprint in the region. Locations in Prosper and Aubrey are expected to open soon as part of the expansion, the release states.

“Our products are baked fresh every day, and we know that once guests taste our fresh, handmade donuts, Shipley will become a go-to spot for both breakfast and snack-time favorites,” Smith said. “McKinney and the surrounding areas are going to feel the love!”
