Community members are invited to don their lederhosen and raise a toast to the 19th annual McKinney Oktoberfest in the city’s historic downtown district.
The family-friendly event features live music performances, weenie dog races, beer stein races, bratwurst eating competitions, a rock climbing wall, a petting zoo and carnival rides.

The Fall Plano Train Show returns for its seventh year with more than 250 vendor and display tables and 14 model railroad displays.
The family-friendly event is hosted by the North Texas Council of Railroad Clubs at the Plano Event Center.

Grapevine’s annual Touch-a-Truck event gives families an opportunity to get a closer look at a variety of trucks, emergency vehicles and construction equipment serving the city daily.

5. UNT Football vs Houston Christian in Denton
The University of North Texas Mean Green football team will square off with in-state rival Houston Christian University at DATCU Stadium.
