Arwa Yemeni Coffee is set to open on McKinney’s western border in early October, a representative of the business confirmed.
The shop will offer traditional Yemeni coffee and tea such as Sanaani coffee, Qishr, Mofawer, Jubani and Adeni tea, as well as signature Arwa beverages like the date matcha latte and sand dune latte. Other offerings include classic espresso drinks, smoothies and more. Coffee served at the shop is sourced from coffee beans grown in Yemen’s Haraz region that have fruity, floral and chocolate flavor notes.
“Founded around the idea that coffee is more than a beverage, Arwa offers an experience where coffee, culture and community come together,” co-owner Oshin Ahmed said in an email.
The shop will be owned by six friends—Oshin Ahmed, Sufi Al Ahmed, Sushmita Biswas, Alvi Sakib, Aniqa Jannath and Ahnaf Hassan—who have frequented the Richardson location of Arwa Yemeni Coffee for years.
