Pleasanton, California-based Simpson Strong-Tie will expand its current manufacturing and warehouse facilities in McKinney, according to an announcement from the city of McKinney.

Simpson Strong-Tie currently has a factory and office located at 2221 Country Lane, McKinney, and will be adding 98,000 square feet to the building. The company will also add at least 22 new full-time employees over the next three years, according to an agreement with the McKinney Economic Development Corp.

"We are proud to be part of the McKinney community for 30-plus years," Plant Manager Sheryl Wyatt said in news release. "It is an exciting time for us as we expand our training center, office, manufacturing and warehouse facilities."

According to the agreement, capital investments for the expansion will equal at least $16 million and Simpson Strong-Tie will receive a $467,000 grant from the MEDC when all terms of the agreement are met.

The expansion is currently underway and is expected to be complete in December.

Simpson Strong-Tie designs and engineers wood connectors; fastening systems; lateral systems; anchoring systems; and repair, protection and strengthening systems. The company has 45 offices, factories and warehouses around the world, including locations in Houston and McKinney.
