Flower Mound Town Council approved a construction agreement for the town’s 2022 Street Reconstruction Project during its Aug. 22 meeting.

The construction consists of five projects: Melody Court reconstruction, Timber Creek Road at College Parkway intersection reconstruction, ADA transition plan and implementation, Melody Court water line replacement and Melody Court sewer line replacement, according to the agenda item.

Bids were received for the project in July. The council approved a construction agreement with XIT Paving & Construction Inc., which submitted the lowest qualified bid at an amount of $855,073.

The total cost for reconstruction at the intersection of Timber Creek and College is $600,000, which will be funded by dedicated sales tax, according to the agenda. The total project cost for the Melody reconstruction project is $300,000, which will also be funded by dedicated sales tax.

Utility debt will fund both the Melody water line and Melody sewer line projects at $60,000 each. The total project cost for ADA transition plan and implementation will be $150,000 annually.


A public meeting to provide residents with project information will be held prior to start of construction, according to the agenda item.
