The road opened to traffic in February. The project consisted of widening Skillern Road from a two-lane asphalt section to a two-lane concrete rural collector section between River Hill Drive and Flower Mound Road.  The project also included a southbound right-turn lane on Flower Mound Road and a northbound right-turn lane on Skillern Road.
