Republicans Ryan Williams and Bobbie Mitchell lead in their respective races for Denton County Commissioners Court, according to counts from all 185 Denton County precincts. An unknown number of mail-in ballots have yet to be counted.

Latest results indicate Williams is ahead of Democratic challenger Sandy Swan in the race for Precinct 1. Williams has nearly 60% of votes over Swan.

For Precinct 3, Mitchell currently leads the race with roughly 58%, compared to Democratic candidate Delia Parker-Mims' 42%.

More than two thirds of registered voters in Denton County cast ballots before Nov. 3, a higher share of the electorate than voted in the entire 2016 election cycle.

These results are updated as of 11:25 p.m., and are unofficial until they are canvassed and certified by the county clerk. Under Texas election law, the clerk accepts and counts mail-in ballots postmarked by Election Day and received by Nov. 4, if they were sent from inside the U.S., or Nov. 9, if they were sent from outside the U.S.
