With unofficial voting totals in, Ramesh Premkumar received 1,814 votes, or 59.44%, to win the race for the unexpired term of Place 5 on Coppell City Council.

His opponent Freddie Guerra garnered 1,238 votes, or 40.56%.

Premkumar could not be reached for comment.

Unofficial voting totals included 57,812 votes cast, or 9.01%, out of Denton County’s 641,470 registered voters. Dallas County unofficial voting totals have 80,129 ballots cast, or 5.6%, out of the county’s 1,430,934 million registered voters.

According to unofficial voting totals, Ramesh Premkumar leads his opponent, Freddie Guerra in the race for the unexpired term for Place 5 on Coppell City Council.

Premkumar garnered 1,287 votes, for 60.34%, while Guerra received 846 votes, for 39.66%.

Unofficial voting totals included 57,812 votes cast, or 9.01%, out of Denton County’s 641,470 registered voters. Dallas County unofficial voting totals have 61,654 ballots cast, or 4.31%, out of the county’s 1.43 million registered voters with 229 out of 442 precincts reporting.

Dallas and Denton counties have released early voting totals for elections related to the unexpired term for Place 5 on Coppell City Council.

What you need to know

Coppell had a single ballot item for the election of the remainder of Mayor pro tem John Jun’s term, with two candidates in the running.


According to unofficial early voting results, Ramesh Premkumar is the leading vote getter in the race for Place 5 with 1,243 votes. His challenger, Freddie Guerra has 806 votes.

What else?

In early voting, there were 47,622 ballots cast countywide, which represents 3.33% of Dallas County's 1,430,934 registered voters. Early voting ballots in Denton County totaled 42,141 countywide, which represents 6.57% of the county's registered voters.

Totals from ballots cast May 1 have yet to be released. Polls closed at 7 p.m., although voters who were in line at 7 p.m. were still able to cast ballots.
