Of the 244 counties ranked in Texas, Denton County ranked highly and Tarrant County ranked modestly for length of life and clinical care.

In terms of county health in 2020, Denton County ranked among the top five counties in Texas for length of life and socioeconomic factors and in the top 15 for quality of life; however, it ranked 159th in terms of physical environment.

Meanwhile, Tarrant County ranked 21st for length of life and 36th in clinical care. The county was ranked 235th for physical environment.

Clinical care includes health insurance, the number of physicians and other factors, while physical environment takes into account air pollution, drinking water violations and housing problems.

Socioeconomic factors are measured by educational attainment levels, children in poverty, income inequality and violent crime.
