The filing application period for the May 1 elections opened Jan. 13 and will close Feb. 12. Various elected positions will be on the ballot this year, including seats on Keller City Council, Keller ISD, Roanoke City Council, Northwest ISD, and Fort Worth City Council.

Early voting will run April 19-27, and election day is May 1.

Here is a list of candidates who have already filed for the May 1 elections in Keller, Roanoke and north Fort Worth.

Keller

No applications have been submitted for Keller City Council Place 1 as of 5 p.m. Jan. 13


As of 11 a.m. Jan. 14, only one candidate has submitted an application for Keller City Council Place 2: incumbent Sean Hicks, CEO of New Leaf Service Contract, who is running for re-election. He was first elected to City Council in June 2018.

Roanoke

Only one candidate has submitted an application forthe position of Mayor. current Mayor Carl “Scooter" E. Gierisch Jr.

Other open positions include council positions for all three wards, including a two-year term for the vacant Ward 3 position following the passing of Council Member Steve Heath.


Keller ISD

Shalunda Corzine, who currently works in human resources for the district, has filed for Keller ISD Place 6.

No applications have been submitted for Keller ISD Place 7 as of 11 a.m. Jan. 14.

Northwest ISD


No applications have been submitted for Northwest ISD board of trustees Places 1 or 2 as of 11 a.m. Jan. 14.

Fort Worth

Mike Haynes has filed his candidacy for the position of Fort Worth mayor, as have Deborah Peoples, a retired Fort Worth resident. and Chris Rector, an author. Current Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price announced her retirement Jan. 5.

Dennis Shingleton, Fort Worth District 7 City Council member, announced his retirement from council in January. As of 11 a.m. Jan. 14, no one has filed to run for the seat Shingleton is vacating.
