After being in business for more than two years, the owners of Goat & Raven bar and restaurant closed the business.

A sign on the eatery's door announced its last day of service was Dec. 21, 2024.

"We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Roanoke community for their loyalty and support," the sign read.

The backstory

The Goat and Raven made its unofficial debut at Celebrate Roanoke on Oct. 8, 2022, with a food truck along Oak Street, according to previous Community Impact reporting.


The restaurant took over the former location of Reno Red’s Frontier Cooking and Catering in Roanoke with a menu featured a wide variety of offerings, including:
  • Chicken banderos
  • Chicken fried steak
  • Fried deviled eggs
  • Brisket tacos
  • An assortment of sandwiches

The eatery featured a number of memorabilia items from the Texas Rangers, Dallas Stars and Dallas Cowboys as well as old gas and oil cans and tailgates from trucks that decorated the restaurant, according to previous Community Impact reporting.
