In a nutshell
The indoor glow-in-the-dark mini golf course and games venue has courses with animated monsters that move and talk, according to the company’s website. The business officially opened in June.
Mayor Pro-Tem Ross McMullin, who attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony, said he held a birthday party for his 7 year old at the business.
“[Monster Mini Golf] offers the exact business that we want to bring to Keller from an experiential [perspective]. The customer service has always been so friendly,” he said.
Keller location owners Brian and Holly Hernandez said the golf course walls are decorated with hand-painted artwork inspired by local locations like the Texas Motor Speedway and Fort Worth Stockyards.
About the owners
While Monster Mini Golf is a franchise of more than 20 years, the Hernandezes said they have been part of the business since 2016. Brian said they found out about the franchise when they were in Las Vegas for a funeral five years prior.
“Our children were young and were tired of being solemn and depressed and being around people at a funeral. So I Googled something to do with kids and mini golf in Las Vegas popped up,” he said.
This location is their second in the Dallas-Fort Worth area with their first location in Frisco.
“We had a lot of people who were actually coming to Frisco from Waco, Oklahoma City [and] Fort Worth,” Holly said. “We wanted to really be on the Fort Worth side of things instead of being in the Dallas area. We have friends on this side and they said Keller is really starved for family entertainment.”
