Six Flags Over Texas has announced the new opening date for its first “giga dive coaster as July 9.
The new coaster was originally scheduled to open June 26, but was postponed because commissioning and test taking took longer than expected, per previous reporting.
The details
The Tormenta Rampaging Run reaches 309 feet above ground and has a 285-foot drop, according to the Six Flags website. Riders will be going at 87 miles-per-hour on a ride spanning more than four thousand feet.
The coaster separates itself from other coasters by blending two types of rides, per previous reporting. It now holds the record as the tallest, fastest and longest dive coaster, the coaster with the tallest vertical coaster loop, highest Immelmann Inversion and highest 95-degree beyond vertical drop.
The new ride is opening as Six Flags at Arlington celebrates its 65th anniversary, according to a news release. The Arlington location is the company’s first location.
