A route to Venice, Italy, is a new destination for American Airlines, which is based in Fort Worth. Service in a Boeing 787-8 will start daily June 5, according to a social media post from Nov. 1.
Tickets for the flights, which will land at Venice Marco Polo Airport, went on sale Nov. 4, according to DFW Airport officials. Per American Airlines's website, the non-stop flight is 10 hours and 35 minutes.
“As Italy continues to remain popular for summertime travel, American is making it easier than ever for customers to shop, dine or unwind in their favorite destinations,” said Brian Znotins, American’s senior vice president of network and schedule planning, in a news release. “Whether reveling in the history of Rome or relaxing on a beach on the Mediterranean, American’s network will offer more ways for customers to plan their perfect itinerary.”

American Airlines announced additional flights to Asia, Spain and Mexico starting in 2025 in September. The airline also started services to Brisbane, Australia, on Oct. 26 and began flying to Rio de Janeiro in Brazil on Oct. 27.

When American Airlines announced its expanded schedule to Italy, it also revealed an additional flight from DFW to Heathrow Airport in London. There will be 35 weekly flights to London, one more than the summer of 2024, according to the news release.
