Incumbent Mindy McClure and Shannon Braun are on the ballot. In the three-person election held May 1 for GCISD board Place 1, no candidate received more than 50% of the vote. The two candidates with the highest number of votes advanced to the runoff election. Early voting for the runoff election began May 24 and ended June 1.
