Construction is underway for Stuart’s Paint and Body’s new location.

The setup

The city of Grapevine issued a building permit on Sept. 20 for construction of a 22,080-square-foot collision repair center near Grapevine Mills Mall, according to a document from the economic development meeting on Oct. 23.

A filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation shows the estimated cost of the project is $6 million. The paint and body center is expected to open by the fall of 2025.

This will be a second location for the business, which also has a spot at 4420 Tradition Trail, Ste. 100, in Plano.

The facility offers full-service auto repair, paintless dent repair, restoration services, paint protection film, paint correction and detailing at its Plano location. The business, which was opened by Stuart Singer in 1983, will make the Grapevine location its flagship location, according to its website.

The backstory

The business is known for working with high-end car manufacturers, including Ferrari, Maserati and Porsche, but has technicians for all makes and models, Jerod Guerin, founder and CEO of Quality Collision Group, said during the Feb. 20 meeting with the Grapevine City Council. Stuart's Paint and Body is under the Quality Collision Group umbrella, according to its website.

The original plan was denied a Feb. 20 meeting but approved by the planning and zoning and council on April 16, according to previous reporting.

Once open, Geurin said the Grapevine location should have about 25 employees.

Quality Collision Group has brands across nine states. Omar Oweis, the project’s representative with Cana Capital, said there were plans to execute a 30-year lease on the property with Quality Collision Group with a $10 million investment on the undeveloped property.
