Officials are planning to close both directions of the Dallas North Tollway in Addison overnight May 3, according to a news release from Dallas Area Rapid Transit.

What you need to know

All northbound and southbound lanes will be closed from 10 p.m. May 3 to 5 a.m. May 4. Southbound drivers will be redirected to the Keller Springs Road exit ramp, remain on the frontage road and re-enter the tollway at Belt Line Road. Northbound drivers will exit at Belt Line Road and re-enter at Keller Springs Road.

Construction crews will set concrete decks for the rail bridge and pedestrian bridge during the closure. The work is part of ongoing construction on DART’s Silver Line rail project and Cotton Belt trail project.

Parts of the tollway in Addison had previously been closed during March and April for installation of a rail bridge and pedestrian bridge.

Looking ahead

The Cotton Belt trail, a regional hike and bike trail running along the Silver Line, is slated to open to pedestrians later this year. The Silver Line is scheduled to begin service in late 2025 or early 2026.
