With all precincts reporting, Republican Keresa Richardson has won the race for the Texas House of Representatives District 61 seat, according to unofficial county results.

What you need to know

Richardson won with 58,315 votes, or 59.72%. Her opponent, Democrat Tony Adams, secured 39,334 votes, or 40.28%.

Collin County saw 517,142 votes cast for the Nov. 5 election out of 751,832 registered voters, bringing the county's voter turnout to 68.78%. A majority of the votes—424,236—came during early voting, according to the election results.

Unofficial election results for the Texas House of Representatives District 61 seat race show Republican Keresa Richardson is maintaining her early lead.

With 75 of 117 Collin County precincts reporting, Richardson is still in the lead with 56,323 votes, or 59.80%. Her opponent, Democrat Tony Adams, has so far secured 37,860 votes, or 40.20%.

Collin County has released early voting totals for the Texas House of Representatives District 61 seat race between candidates Keresa Richardson and Tony Adams.

What’s happening?

According to unofficial results, Richardson is leading with 50,133 votes, or 59.78% of the votes, and Adams follows with 33,733 votes at 40.22%.


Richardson earned a spot in the election after defeating the seat’s incumbent, Frederick Frazier, in a primary runoff election earlier this year. Her opponent in this election, Adams, ran unopposed in the Democratic primary.
