During Tuesday’s regular meeting, the Frisco Planning and Zoning Commission approved Eldorado Village, a new planned development on the northeast corner of Dallas and Eldorado parkways that will include restaurants, retail, a medical office and two hotels.
In 2014,
Wal-Mart Stores Inc. requested a zoning change in that same location to bring in a 182,000-square-foot Wal-Mart Supercenter. Some nearby residents opposed the store saying it would bring more traffic congestion to the area.
Since then, Wal-Mart has bought the land; however, it has not submitted any plans for a store, Frisco Development Services Director John Lettelleir said.
The preliminary plans presented Tuesday evening do not indicate what the restaurants, retail, medical office or hotels will be, and City Planner Alaina Helton said no plans have been submitted for any of the buildings yet.
Eldorado Village will be south of a planned 20-acre
hospital campus planned by Texas Health Resources on the southwest corner of Dallas Parkway and Cobb Hill Drive.
