Included on the agenda is a request for a specific use permit for a proposed helistop in town where a helicopter would land and take off near residential areas. The helicopter and helistop would be used to take the land owner to and from his property, as previously reported by Community Impact.
The details
The proposed helistop would be 36-feet by 36-feet and sit on a 7.74-acre plot of land in Flower Mound. The town’s planning and zoning commission unanimously recommended denial of the specific use permit needed to build the helistop at its meeting Feb. 10 after residents turned out in opposition. It will need a supermajority of council members to vote for approval to pass.
What else?
The Town Council will also consider a nearly $2.4 million contract for concrete and drainage improvement services for the reconstruction of Wichita Trail. If approved, F&F Concrete Construction would take on the project, which would be done in two phases that should last about 100 days, according to town documents.
