Flower Mound residents can once again participate in the town's annual Sad Tree Along Road program.

The program allows residents to spread holiday cheer by decorating the trees along public roads, according to town officials.

Residents must choose a tree in a safe location, and if the tree is on private property, then permission will be needed. It is required that all decorations are not dangerous to wildlife, which means no tinsel. The decorations must be attached securely to the tree with zip ties, pipe cleaners or wire, according to town officials.

All decorations must be cleaned up by Jan. 3.
