With all precincts reporting in the Flower Mound mayor race, challenger Cheryl Moore beat incumbent Mayor Derek France with 50.6% of the vote to France's 49.4%, unofficial results show. Moore received 4,464 votes and France received 4,362.

Moore said she was thought her victory was "against all odds" and appreciated the support of people during the process.

"We have work to do," she said. "I hope I can live up to what everybody wants."


She said the River Walk's future and finding economic development through other revenue streams are items she will prioritize.

"I just look forward to keeping Flower Mound Flower Mound and growing the way residents want," she said.

In early voting, there were 42,141 ballots cast countywide In Denton County, which represents 6.5% of the area's 641,470 voters. In Tarrant County, those numbers were 56,491 votes cast among 1,276,106 voters, or 4.4%.


Totals from ballots cast May 4 have yet to be released. Polls closed at 7 p.m., although voters who were in line at 7 p.m. were still able to cast ballots.
