Planning and zoning meets Tuesday at 6 p.m.


The planning and zoning commission will hear two rezoning requests asking for a change from single family and agriculture to light industrial. Any decisions made by the commission will then go on to the McKinney City Council for final approval. For more info, click here.

School board meets Tuesday at 7 p.m.


The McKinney ISD Board of Trustees will hold its monthly meeting. The agenda includes a learning showcase presented by Slaughter Elementary students, a public hearing on School FIRST (Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas), and a termination of a temporary teacher contract. City to spray for mosquitoes Wednesday night


The city is set to spray two areas of the city to control mosquitoes after a positive mosquito pool and a human case of West Nile Virus were confirmed. Both sprays will start at 10 p.m.Wednesday, Sept. 28, weather permitting. The first location to be sprayed is generally a half mile radius around Falcon Creek Park and Eddins Elementary. The second location to be sprayed is generally a half mile radius around Ezra Lee (Tinker) Taylor Memorial Park. For more info, click here
