During Monday's Collin County Commissioners Court meeting, commissioners voted to drop the tax rate 7 percent to $0.208395 per $100 valuation, which is the largest tax rate cut in 30 years.

Commissioners also approved the county's combined budget of $322.7 million. County officials said this total includes operating funds, which include the general fund, road and bridge fund, and permanent improvement funds as well as debt service funds. Other funds included are county health care, insurance and the Collin County Toll Road Authority.
