    The Broadway hit "Hamilton" is coming to Austin's Bass Concert Hall in 2018. According to Kathy Panoff, Texas Performing Arts director and associate dean at The University of Texas, the best way to guarantee tickets is to purchase a subscription to the 2017-18 season, which starts at $135. Tickets went on sale Fri., Feb. 24.

    Mariposa Montessori School, which operates out of two campuses in Southwest Austin, will consolidate both of its schools into one larger campus this fall. Construction has begun on the new site, located at 3338 Paisano Trail, Austin. The owner of the school John Falcon said he hopes to have it up and running by this fall.

  • Last Monday, Feb. 20, the Austin ISD board of trustees voted to approve a resolution protecting immigrant students, families and employees. Although not explicitly stated, it was implied that this measure was taken in response to the recent uptick in raids by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE. Read the full resolution here.

  • Owner of the historic Austin dance hall the Broken Spoke and longtime Oak Hill resident James White will give a presentation titled "Stories of Oak Hill" at the Oak Hill Business Professional Association's monthly luncheon this Thursday, March 2. When White last spoke, the luncheon was standing room only, so attendees are encouraged to register early.
