Promoters for the Spirit of Orgain 2023, a music festival set for Dec. 8-9 at the Brushy Creek Amphitheater in Hutto, announced the event has been canceled.

In a nutshell

The promoter for the upcoming wo-day music festival, Ellington Music Ventures LLC, chose to cancel the event "due to the financial impossibility of moving forward with the show," according to a city of Hutto news release.

It was previously reported the management company in charge of the event, The Directors of Chaos, or DOC, made the decision to cancel the event after one of the headliners could not perform. However, according to the updated release, DOC was unaware of the decision to cancel and all artists were willing and able to perform. The lineup for the festival included artists Erykah Badu, Thundercat, Masego, Hiatus Kaiyote, GZA, Sir Woman and others.
