A new sports bar and eatery is now open in East Austin.

Recreation is a new concept from Origin Hospitality, which also owns the Ma'Coco locations down the block and in Buda, as well as Balcón in San Marcos. The Austin bar and restaurant marked its grand opening on East Sixth Street in early August.

The lounge's menu includes appetizers, sides and main dishes like sandwiches, burgers and tacos. Gelato is offered for dessert. The bar serves beer, wine and several house cocktails.

Recreation has afternoon happy hours Tuesday through Friday, and weekend bottomless mimosa brunches on Saturdays and Sundays. Live DJ sets are also featured on weekend nights.
