Officials with the city of Buda and Hays County will partner to host an open house to discuss the SH 45 gap study June 15 at the Sunfield Station Event Center, located at 2610 Main St., Buda, from 4:30-7:30 p.m.

The SH 45 gap road project has been a contentious one for years and in recent months has seen Hays County and Travis County commissioners courts spar over its future, as previously reported by Community Impact.

SH 45 sprawls from Buda to Cedar Park with a nearly 4-mile “gap” that straddles the Hays and Travis county lines; filling the gap would create a connection between SH 45 and I-35.

This would be one of the first steps since the Hays County commissioners approved a $2.5 million contract with CP&Y, Inc. for engineering services and a feasibility study.

More recently, Buda City Council approved an interlocal agreement with the county to conduct the study.

There will be information offered at the meeting that will then be available online as well.

Residents can submit comments and feedback through the SH 45 project website, in-person at the open house, via email at [email protected], and by text or voicemail at 512-400-6107.
