A round of new appointments in the city of Kyle has been executed following a postponement in early December.

Officials agreed upon the delay during the first City Council meeting in December until the results of the Dec. 8 runoff were clear. Mayor Travis Mitchell ended up winning his bid for re-election against challenger Linda Tenorio, so the appointments took place during council’s Dec. 15 meeting.

Among those appointed to positions and seats on various boards and bodies was Council Member Rick Koch, who will continue his appointment as mayor pro tem.

The replacement of former Council Member Tracy Scheel on the Alliance Regional Water Authority Board of Directors has been delayed until January, but the City Council representative for the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization will remain Mayor Travis Mitchell.

Finally, replacing Scheel on the Capital Area Council of Governments General Assembly will be Council Member Yvonne Flores-Cale.
