The north side of San Marcos will soon get a new shopping center at 641 Mill Street, adjacent to the Old Mill Business Park and next to several student housing and residential developments. Ground was broken on the shopping center, called Mill Street Crossing, in January. The first phase of the project will include a 12,500-square-foot building, and a new grocery and convenience store called Mill Street Market. According to the developers, the new facility is set to open at the end of summer. The opening of Mill Street Crossing will coincide with the completion of the city of San Marcos’ Mill Street improvement project, which will include wider streets, the creation of curbs and sidewalks, a stop light and new lighting.
