Kyle and Buda both saw a sales tax revenue increase of more than 10 percent compared to the same time last year. San Marcos sales tax revenue was down 4.79 percent from last year but up 1.4 percent from April. Net revenue for Kyle and Buda was down from April.

Sales tax revenue is the net amount of money a city takes in as a result of the sales tax and reflects the health of the economy. A larger sales tax means more people are participating in the economy by buying.

The Texas Comptroller released the May data for sales tax revenue on July 12, showing total sales tax revenues and percent changes from the same period last year.
