Jam out to Texan musicians for a good cause at the Sunshine after the Rain Hurricane Harvey Relief Benefit. Barbecue plates will be on sale from Black’s BBQ. Pie in the Sky Festival

With more than 20 hot air balloons, pie-themed events, contests, beer and salsa tasting, music and more, the city of Kyle hosts its inaugural Pie in the Sky Festival on Labor Day weekend. Wells Fargo brings  out its stagecoach hot air balloon for the event. Along with the festivities, the city is attempting to set a mark recognized by the Guinness World Records for the most people named Kyle or Kylie in one location. The festival is divided into three sessions taking place Friday evening, Saturday morning and Saturday evening. $5 (per session) $12 (weekend pass). 5-10 p.m. (Fri.), 7-10 a.m.  and 4-10 p.m. (Sat.). Market in the Park

The Ding-Dang Ol’ Art and Music Puddin’ Party

Bring your own drinks and explore local, hand-crafted art at The Ding-Dang Ol’ Art and Music Puddin’ Party. Along with live music performances and quick bites, there will be an open mic session for poets, comedians, writers, musicians and classical sets. Hurricane Harvey Charity and Benefit Show

Give back and have fun at Buzz Mill’s for the San Marcos Artist Collective, Magazine Records and Texas State Mediation Club Hurricane Harvey Charity and Benefit Show. All proceeds will support those affected by Hurricane Harvey in Rockport, Fulton, Houston and Corpus Christi. City of San Marcos offices, including City Hall, the public library, the activity center and utility offices, will be closed Monday in observance of Labor Day.

Rio Vista Swimming Pool will be open for its last weekend of summer operation from noon-6 p.m. Saturday through Monday.

In Buda, all city offices, including the library, are closed on Monday for Labor Day.

 Kyle’s city offices and library will be closed. The pool will also be closed for the season.
