Terms and compensation The mayor and council members serve three-year terms without term limits and earn $100 and $50, respectively, per meeting. Mayor Todd Webster and council members David Wilson and Shane Arabie declined their stipends.

Big decisions made in 2015

Diversified the housing market Cypress Creek, a residential development offering a more expensive housing product than was previously available in the city, broke ground in the summer.

Road bond progress The city began construction on its first of five road bond projects approved in a 2013 bond election.

Utilities expansion The city of Kyle purchased a $2 million wastewater treatment plant to begin the process of expanding wastewater treatment service.

Top issues for 2016

Hotels City Council took steps to make the city more attractive to the hospitality industry in 2015. Three hotels are already planned for the area, and the city expects that activity to continue in 2016.

Pedestrian mobility The city will look to begin a sidewalk construction project at the intersection of FM 150 and FM 2770.

Water and wastewater work The city plans to improve its water and wastewater infrastructure in 2016.
