As multiple roads projects progress to design and construction phases in Round Rock, additional funds have been allotted in the city’s budget to fund them.

A total of $25.6 million in funds from the Round Rock Transportation and Economic Development Corporation were approved by city officials April 27. Among the projects receiving the funds for design and construction are Gattis School Road segments 4 and 5; Chisholm Trail Road north; and the Wyoming Springs Boulevard extension.

The city’s 2023 adopted budget includes $268.57 million for capital improvements to existing transportation infrastructure with a variety of funding sources, such as the RRTEDC, federal grant funding and local grant funding. This recent approval raises the amount of funding previously committed from the RRTEDC from roughly $137.25 million to about $162.84 million.
