Demolition began on the Cactus Nights Sports Bar building this week to make way for a new dance hall and bar. The property was recently purchased by the Villarreal family, which owns the Long Branch Saloon and La Esquina Cantina.

UNOFFICIAL RESULTS: Fort Bend County Precinct 4 Commissioner DeMerchant unseated; McCoy and Sane headed to runoff


According to unofficial voting results, the Democratic Fort Bend County commissioner Precinct 4 race will head to a runoff election about two months after no candidate secured more than 50% of the vote. Incumbent Ken DeMerchant secured 14.34% of the vote, with 1,140 votes total, and has been unseated for the Democratic position.
