Owned by Zane and Michelle Fielding and Nicole and John Palacios, Pixel Palace Arcade and Bar will open to the public on Oct. 14 in Round Rock.

The details

The arcade bar will feature pinball machines, classic arcade games, claw machines, basketball, skeeball and more games from the late 70s to the late 90s. All games will be played with tokens that can be bought at the bar with most games costing no more than 50 cents per play.

Zane Fielding said the business has been in the making since 2017, when he first started crowdsourcing for the bar on social media. Over 600 members of the bar’s Discord server have been waiting for the official opening, he said.

John Palacios said the bar is entirely focused on nostalgia—from the neon lights framing the bar’s interior to the 80s commercials playing on the TVs at the bar.

Michelle Fielding said the menu has some nods to the retro theme as well.

“A portion of our menu is called latchkey kid,” Michelle Fielding said. “That is dedicated to us latchkey kids that had to go home and make our own food and fend for ourselves.”

The menu options include hot pockets, pizza rolls and deep fried Uncrustables.
