Round Rock residents will soon have new options for coffee beverages and dining, as progress continues on these new locations.

Velvet Taco

Work on the site to be occupied by Velvet Taco in the Rock Creek Plaza retail center began March 8. Representatives of Velvet Taco and the city of Round Rock confirmed in June that a new location is coming to the area soon, but a target opening date has not been set. Velvet Taco is a national chain with multiple locations in Texas, such as at The Domain, and offers a variety of specialty tacos and margaritas. www.velvettaco.com

Dutch Bros. Coffee

A third Round Rock location of Dutch Bros. Coffee at 2630 S. A.W. Grimes Blvd., Round Rock, is scheduled to open in the "next month or so," although a specific opening date has not been set, according to a company representative. Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filings for the project show the structure will be 950 square feet once completed. Blue Corn Harvest Bar & Grill

Blue Corn Harvest Bar & Grill, a casual-style restaurant known for serving a variety of authentic Southwestern cuisine, will expand to the Round Rock market this November with a location anchoring the first phase of the Diamond 79 commercial development, according to listing agent Frances Crossley. Founded in Cedar Park in 2012 by co-owners Carlos Manzano and Santos Garcia, the restaurant has since expanded with two additional locations in Leander and Georgetown.

The restaurant and bar will anchor the shopping center, Crossley said, and occupy a 5,463-square-foot space in the development located at 2980 Joe DiMaggio Blvd., Round Rock, with an additional 850 square feet of patio dining. The lease for the space was executed Jan. 25. 512-528-0889. www.bluecornharvest.com
