Pflugerville City Council Member Brad Marshall, Place 2, announced his candidacy for mayor April 26.
Marshall is the owner of Brad Marshall Homes. He serves on the city's transportation committee and is a six-year member of the city's Finance and Budget Committee.
“As we move forward, my vision for the city is that Pflugerville is a perfectly balanced and safe place to live, work and play—a place where residents can have civic pride in honoring our past while we shape our future,” Marshall said in a statement. “Therefore, as mayor, I will focus on the strategic management and planning related to rapid city growth; transportation and traffic mobility; and police, fire and first-responder programs.”
Former Council Member Victor Gonzales has previously announced he will run as well.
Update 5:08 p.m.
Marshall will need to resign to run for mayor, said Terri Toledo, Pflugerville Public Information Officer. The City Council is expected to order a special election to fill Marshall's unexpired term at an upcoming council meeting.
The election for Pflugerville Mayor will be held in November.
