Austin Public Health announced March 13 that the Austin-Travis County area has moved into Stage 3 of coronavirus-related restrictions. Stage 3 recommends maintaining social distancing and mask-wearing in public, avoiding social groups with more than 10 people and suggests businesses operate between 50%-75% capacity.

Here are the changes for Pflugerville parks and city amenities following the Stage 3 designation, according to a March 16 city news release:

Parks
  • The Pflugerville Parks and Recreation department will reopen sports fields, park pavilion rentals and the recreation center's basketball court March 17.
City amenities
  • Beginning March 22, the Recreation Center will expand its hours to the following: 7 a.m.-8 p.m., Monday through Thursday; 7 a.m.-7 p.m., Friday; closed Saturday; 1-6 p.m., Sunday.
  • The recreation center's basketball court will be designated for pickleball Mondays and Wednesdays from 5-8 p.m., as well as reserved for basketball Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-8 p.m.
