183 North Mobility Project

Project: Includes the construction of two express lanes in each direction on US 183, a general-purpose lane to bring the number of nontolled lanes to four in each direction, operational improvements to southbound MoPac, new shared-use path connections, new sidewalks and cross-street connections for bicycles and pedestrians.

Update: Work is currently focused on completing the direct connector flyovers.
  • Timeline: expected to begin tolling in early 2026
  • Cost: $612 million
  • Funding source: federal funding, sale of toll revenue bonds, Transportation Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act funds
Spicewood Springs Road Regional Mobility Project


Project: Expands Spicewood Springs Road from two lanes to four lanes with a center median, shared-use paths, storm sewer, water quality ponds, water and wastewater improvements and new trees.

Update: Crews are working on drainage infrastructure on the north side of the street, including retaining ponds, storm drains and rain gardens. Work will shift to the south side of the street in December.
  • Timeline: completion expected in late 2026
  • Cost: $31 million

Little Walnut Creek Flood Risk Reduction (Phase 4)

Project: Reduces the risk of flooding along Little Walnut Creek and diverts floodwaters from the creek to underground culverts, expands a stormwater detention pond, replaces and upgrades water and wastewater lines, and adds a shared-use path.

Update: Phase 4 includes the installation of a 72-inch storm pipe on Mearns Meadow Boulevard, installing wastewater lines, setting storm curb inlets and connections, and replacing concrete curbs, gutters and sidewalks.

I-35 Capital Express North


Project: The project will add one high-occupancy vehicle managed lane in each direction along I-35 between SH 45 North and 290 Toll, reconstruct several bridges, relocate and reconstruct entrance and exit ramps, and enhance bicycle and pedestrian accommodations along the corridor.

Update: Beams have been set on all segments of bridges that were demolished in 2024. Construction continues on the bridge walls and U-turns, while utility work is anticipated to be complete in late 2025.

Burnet Road Mobility Program

Project: Includes updated traffic signals, improved crossings, bus stop improvements, trail connections, curb extensions, drainage improvements, ADA-compliant shared-use paths, raised medians and more on Burnet Road from White Horse Trail to US 183 (C2), Bright Verde Way to MoPac (C3) and US 183 to Bright Verde Way (C4).


Update: Work will begin at Burnet Road and Koenig Lane and continue north to approximately 500 feet south of US 183 (C2). Final design is complete and the project has gone to bid (C3 and C4).
  • Timeline: construction expected to begin in mid-November (C2), construction expected to begin in summer 2026 (C3), construction expected to begin in spring 2026 (C4)
  • Cost: $13.8 million (C2), $23 million (C3), $16 million (C4)
  • Funding source: city of Austin 2016 Mobility Bond
Loop 360 Program

Project: Upgrades across multiple intersections along Loop 360, including Courtyard Drive/RM 2222 and Lakewood Drive/Spicewood Springs Road in North Austin.

Update: The Westlake Drive and Cedar Street projects are currently the only active construction projects in the program. Work on other major intersections is not expected to begin in the short term.

West Rundberg Lane Extension

Project: Extends West Rundberg Lane from Burnet Road to Metric Boulevard, with an expansion of the roadway from two lanes to four lanes with a raised median, an 8-foot shared-use path on both sides, and storm sewer, water and wastewater improvements.


Update: The project is currently in the early stages of design.

  • Funding source: CAMPO funding and city of Austin bond
